Many would agree that the purity of the chandelier affects the mood in the house. Home lighting depends on how clean this interior decoration is. In some apartments or houses, cleaning often bypasses the chandelier. This can be explained by the fact that it is quite difficult to clean it - you need to follow safety precautions, and it is inconvenient to wash it. However, despite this, the chandelier should be cleaned regularly. How to do it best?
So, you still decided to pay attention to the chandelier and wash it thoroughly. When is it best done? The answer is obvious - in the daytime. At the same time, you need to consider which way the windows in the room are directed in order to choose the time of the day when the room will be as lit up as possible. Cleaning the room should start with the washing of the chandelier, because during the cleaning and processing of the chandelier with water, dust and moisture from it will be on the floor.
Before cleaning the chandelier you need to assess the degree of pollution. If it is clean enough, then there is no need to remove it. If your lighting device is very dirty, then you still have to remove it. If you do not remove the chandelier, then be sure to turn off the electricity before. In addition, you need to remove the light bulbs and protect the cartridges from moisture. To do this, they can wrap the film. For washing you will need:
- table or stepladder;
- apron with pockets;
- film to protect the furniture in the room;
- clean water in a stable container (for example, in a basin);
- dry and wet cloths.
However, first of all, you need to take care of security, so it is better, after all, to remove the chandelier. Removing the chandelier, you protect yourself from electrical shock. In this case, anyway, you have to unscrew the light bulbs and protect the cartridges from water.
If you nevertheless decided to go in a simpler way and leave the chandelier in place, the first thing, as mentioned earlier, is to turn off the electricity in the room. Then you need to choose what to get to the chandelier. The ideal option would be a stepladder - it is stable, you can stand on it at the desired height, it is convenient to climb on it.
If there is no stepladder, in this case you can use the table, and if the height of the table is not enough, you can still take a chair. In this situation, there must be someone close by to secure it. Another important point: when working on a table or on a chair, you need to be positioned so that the chandelier is in front of your eyes, not over your head. Otherwise, there may be dizziness due to the fact that the head will be raised up and the muscles may constrict the blood vessels. As a result, you can get injured.
When using energy-saving lamps, you need to know that they are very fragile, so it is undesirable to remove them. It is better to wrap them in plastic bags, fixed with scotch tape.
How to wash the chandelier
To wash the chandelier it is undesirable to use a soap solution. In this case, it is necessary to wash the ceiling with clean water several times to clean them from soap stains. The soap solution can be used except for washing the removed elements (plafonds, pendants), which can be washed several times in clean water.
The best option for washing chandeliers are special cleaning sprays. Such aerosols can clean the chandelier quickly and efficiently. They are in every hardware store.
If the crystal chandelier is in a room with hermetically closed windows and good ventilation, then heavy pollution does not threaten it. In this case, it can be cleaned with an antistatic panicle. Such a panicle not only removes dust, but also does not form static electricity. During cleaning, it is better to use cloth gloves so as not to leave fingerprints.
How to wash the crystal chandelier without removing it? How to quickly wash it? To do this, there is a simple way - using foam from an aerosol. It is necessary to place a cloth under the chandelier and spray foam with the chandelier. The foam should drain onto the fabric.
There is a cheaper way. The chandelier should be disassembled and carefully washed each of its elements with dishwashing detergent dissolved in water. Then all parts must be thoroughly washed with clean water and ammonia (100 ml of alcohol in 0.5 liters of water). Instead of a solution of ammonia, you can use a dry clean cloth.
